    Responsibilities

    The Procurement Specialist will report to the Sr. Director of Sourcing at HomeServe. A Procurement Specialist is needed to support the growing Sourcing Department within HomeServe. The job of the Specialist will be to support the business in their needs to acquire goods and services by executing to the  sourcing life cycle – sourcing vendors, market analysis, RFP/I development, price/contract negotiations, SOW and SLA development, business handoff.

    • Well rounded, self-confident, outgoing personality able to work with many different areas of the business and able to listen and communicate effectively.
    • Lead cross functional teams in the sourcing process to ultimately enable selection of the appropriate vendor / partner to support the business.
    • Develop negotiating strategies, especially challenging when there is only one source.
    • Approaches supplier negotiations and partnerships with a view of the total cost of ownership in mind.
    • Ensure that all purchases are approved by all appropriate parties.
    • Flexible in approach to handling procurement opportunities and contracting, e.g. proposing modifications to the process to shorten timelines yet still achieve desired results.

     

    Qualifications

    • 5 years of experience in handling the sourcing lifecycle is preferred. Will consider less years with strong background.  
    • Ability to work independently. Will report to a remote supervisor.
    • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task, addressing many different contracts and RFP’s at one time by working efficiently.
    • Track record in achieving savings for the organizations for whom he/she works.
    • Experienced in writing Statements of Work and Service Level Agreements, primarily for outsourced services and software implementations.
    • Must be detail oriented and have a good understanding of contract language, e.g. limit of liability, indemnification, termination, warranty clauses.
    • Effective written and oral communication skills; comfortable presenting to a group.
    • An ability to adapt and thrive in a demanding environment where you are competing for people’s time.
    • Strong project management skills; sensitive to delivering on time.
    • Experience in risk mitigation in supplier selection and contracting.
    • Approaches supplier negotiations and partnerships with a view of the total cost of ownership in mind.
    • Strong problem solving skills.
    • Experience with procurement of software as a service, services for software implementation and outsourced services, e.g. call centers.
    • Can manage to deadlines.
    • Experience working with C level executives.
    • Bachelor’s degree – business, finance, accounting or economics preferred
    • CPM certification is a plus
    • Intermediate skills with Excel, Word, Outlook
