    Position Overview


    The Corporate Tax Accountant will report to the Director of Tax and will take ownership of various responsibilities within the Tax function with respect to tax compliance and research.  The position will also have exposure to financial accounting responsibilities, including working with various databases to extract reports necessary for the preparation of tax workpapers, filings etc.  As the company further develops into the leader of the industry, the role will offer the opportunity to grow professionally.  Individual should exhibit a hands-on approach while being a team player; possessing strong organizational skills and an attention to detail.


    Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

    • Gather information necessary to accurately prepare monthly sales and use, excise and related tax returns
    • Work to enhance the automation of the Tax Accounting and Compliance processes
    • Preparation of federal and state income tax workpapers
    • Review of federal and state income tax estimates, extensions and returns
    • Prepare monthly tax account reconciliations
    • Assist with preparation of quarterly and year-end tax provision
    • Respond to tax notices and provide support with agency examinations
    • Perform research on varied federal, state and international tax topics and analyze the impact to the company as it continues to grow and expand product offerings  
    • Prepare various property tax returns, annual reports and related informational filings
    • Keep current of developments in the tax area
    • Provide an information source in the tax area within the company
    • Assist in financial planning and forecasting



    • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of corporate tax experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
    • Advanced degree and / or CPA qualification desirable
    • Public accounting firm experience preferred
    • Understanding of federal and state income, excise and sales taxes
    • Understanding of the fundamentals of ASC 740/IAS 12 Tax Provision concepts
    • Prior international tax experience helpful, but not required
    • Proficient using Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Strong tax and accounting software skills (Oracle and OneSource) with ability to implement process improvements highly desired
    • Solid quantitative, analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail and intellectual curiosity
    • Capable of working in a deadline-driven environment while overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
    • Sound work ethic and a willingness to work overtime when required
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
    • A team player with ability to think outside the box
    • Ability to perform independently with minimal oversight
    • Confidence to express ideas, accept feedback and actively participate in group discussions
