    Position Overview


    The Contractor Recruiter will be responsible for effectively recruiting contractors that service our customers’ home repairs.  The Contractor Recruiter will prospect and vet contractors that provide quality and comprehensive plumbing, electrical, HVAC and landscaping services.  The Contractor Recruiter will collaborate with Regional Operations Managers to identify and manage gaps in network coverage, screen contractors, and negotiate rates.  The CR will also work closely with Regional Operations Specialists to ensure proper scheduling for contractor on boarding and training.

    • Recruit contractors to establish and maintain a viable contractor network.
    • Recruit contractors that meet business requirements and selection criteria.
    • Negotiate contractor service rates that are within confinement of business guidelines in an effort to control claim costs.
    • Produce and present monthly performance reports highlighting recruitment progress and issues. Report monthly on activity, performance and planned actions.
    • Perform emergency recruitment of contractors when necessary.
    • Monitor market place changes that affect HomeServe’s business and industry.
    • Demonstrate awareness of current standards and Codes of Practice.
    • Perform projects as required that may involve field work.
    • Other duties as assigned




    • Background and understanding of plumbing / heating / electrical or similar environment. Prior work history in the service business is highly desired.
    • High School diploma with relevant experience or equivalent. College degree preferred
    • Computer literate with strong MS Office skills
    • Excel spreadsheet skills including formula creation, pivot tables, filters and v-lookup knowledge.
    • Capable of working independently with little supervision; can tune out distractions when in the call center, self-starter. 
    • Strong oral and written communications skills with emphasis on negotiation and collaboration.
    • Understanding of consultative selling skills (Introduction, Probing, Handling Objections, Identifying Buying Signals).
    • Team-oriented.  Enjoys competing, but also encourages, supports and assists team members.
    • Customer-Focused:  Promotes the customer relationship to both internal and external customers.  Puts customers at the heart of everything he/she does.
