    Responsibilities

    The Sr. Program Manager will report directly to the Global Business Development Director for HomeServe Labs.  We are looking for someone to help alignment between our insurance partners, operations, internal functions, product and marketing teams. The role is key to us launching our successful European product into the US.  This is not your ordinary program manager role.  The Labs Sr. Program Manager will structure the operating model and marshall global resources throughout the project lifecycle to make sure we can provide our US home insurance partners with the same end to end product that we have elsewhere. We need someone who has confidence in their ability to make things happen through complex problem solving, successful engagement with internal and external partners and independent work. 

     

    Provides highly-valued strategic consulting level support and guidance through key initiatives with influential leadership to agree and implement those solutions.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Structure the program workstreams, and identify ways to accomplish the individual tasks within commercial constraints.
    • Oversee and drive project planning activities and the execution of projects according to plan and intended objectives
    • Partner with other HomeServe US and Global HomeServe Labs colleagues to ensure alignment of activities and resources
    • Partner with Business stakeholders to understand and document business needs, prioritize and track project requests.
    • Manage relationship with project stakeholders, including internal and external partners, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and issues in order to manage expectations on all project requirements and deliverables
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive project management and business analysis standards, tools, processes and procedures.
    • Problem solve to remove, resolve and mitigate barriers, issues and risks that slow or prevent the successful accomplishment of project objectives
    • Set expectations, establish metrics and goals for the program and assigned colleagues
    • Manage program forecasts/budgets
    • Manage capital projects and work with various external and internal stakeholders across the organization to successfully drive projects to completion within time & budget and exceeding stakeholder’s expectations
    • Liaise with senior management, clients, Business Ops, and IT staff to conduct high level investigative studies to seek effective, feasible, and profitable business solutions
    • Utilize own skills and business experience to assess and advise on the practicability of alternatives, assessing technical limitations against operational realities
    • Establish training and mentoring plans to ensure consistent practices in elicitation and documentation of quality deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
    • Business Relationship Management
    • Work closely with, and act as a “trusted advisor” and the primary point of contact for US HomeServe Labs, to other functions in the organization such as Operations, Business Development, Finance, Legal, Sourcing, etc

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Project Management, Business (or Management), Finance, or related discipline
    • 5+ years of demonstrated focus on the strategy and execution of a technology product market entry.
    • Outstanding presentation, communication, and facilitation skills
    • Demonstrated thought leadership within a global organisation
    • Effective at working directly with senior leadership as well as operations staff
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others not under direct supervision
    • Self-motivated, strong attention to detail, and results driven
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented climate; across functional areas and multiple locations
    • Experience managing program deliverables including: scope statements, project scheduling, change control, and budget development and forecasting
    • IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification a plus
    • Experience with Home Insurance and Home Assistance industries a plus
    • Has excellent inter-personal skills and is experienced in managing internal and external stakeholders at a senior level
    • Can demonstrate strong stakeholder management capability to influence the direction and scope of new programs
    • Has a thorough understanding and experience working in both Waterfall and Agile environments
    • Possesses a broad knowledge of business and business functions, and understands the significance of commercial constraints. Is able to recognize potential assignments outside own areas of specialization and bring to bear appropriate expertise as necessary
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to deal with complex and ambiguous environments and maintain a business-wide view across a variety of projects, work-streams and timeframes
