As a Legal and Compliance intern, you will be an integral part of the Legal and Compliance team. You will work closely with your manager and other team members over the 10 week program to gain useful knowledge and skills needed in today’s workforce. You will work on individual assignments and group projects that will be presented to Senior Leadership and other HomeServe teams. We offer professional development classes, key speakers and community outreach opportunities. You will have a program lead to guide you through your experience at HomeServe. Your work can make an immediate impact in our rapidly growing organization.


The Legal and Compliance intern will:

  • Support compliance programs across HomeServe USA.
  • Perform legal research projects with a focus on identifying and resolving relevant regulatory issues.
  • Assist with contract and agreement review.
  • Support the compliance team in progressing strategic initiatives, including general compliance matters, communication, training and awareness programs, data privacy and the development of a third party risk management program.

  • Assist with ongoing investigations and audits as appropriate.

  • Monitor and research current and proposed federal/state law and regulations to determine applicability and risk to operational aspects of the company and its products and services.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, including vendor agreements, partnership agreements and non-disclosure agreements, etc.
  • Assist members of the Legal and Compliance Team with responding to of customer complaints from attorneys general, insurance departments, the Better Business Bureau, etc. 
  • Assist in litigation matters and disputes.
  • Assist with the investigation and resolution of legal and compliance issues, consulting with internal associates and external clients as directed by members of the legal and compliance team.
  • Assist with ad hoc legal research projects and 50 state surveys.
  • Perform other legal or compliance related duties as needed.



  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • Current law student having completed at least one year of school. 
  • Must be available to start in June and able to work standard business hours for the duration of the summer internship.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated and ability to set priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams in a collaborative, teamwork environment.
  • Must have experience working with cross-functional teams in a large organization.  Proficient with Microsoft Office.
