Responsibilities

The Director/VP of Product Development is responsible for leading the organization in research for new products, product enhancements and product redesign. Evaluates the potential and practicality of products in development and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The role will be based in Norwalk, CT. Some travel (up to 10%) is required.

  • Expert on New Product development including product research & development, planning & execution and customer journey/experience for warranty/service plans
  • Define and communicate the product vision created from company goals to drive growth and, go-to-market strategies.
  • Responsible for the end to end product life cycle. This includes: identifying customer needs, product vision and strategy, roadmap creation and communication, release planning, requirements gathering, functional specification all the way through to launch, and enhancement phases.
  • Collaborate with key business and products stakeholders in order to identify and prioritize product capabilities and gaps.
  • Develop a strong product culture of innovation, rapid testing and continuous learning.

Ensure direct interaction of the product team with customers, partners, and internal departments, to deeply understand customer needs to achieve the market and growth goals of the company

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of directly related work experience. 10 years of this work experience should be in senior product management/marketing/ sales/ product development leadership roles in warranty, service and/or insurance new product development industry
  • Must be able to lead in ambiguity and fast-paced change—can set clear direction and make decisions in ambiguous situations in a matrix organizational structure.
  • A seasoned business leader and visionary with a proven track record of development and execution of tactical plans, and delivering successful products
