Position Overview

 

The Business Analyst will sit in the PMO, report to a Portfolio Manager and add to our high-performance PMO organization. The Business Analyst will be responsible for partnering with functional business leaders and other stakeholders on high impact projects. This role requires a solid understanding of project management methodology, technical concepts and the ability to grasp how projects and work assignments fit into the overall business strategy. Work closely with business SMEs and participate in JAD/JAR (requirements gathering) sessions, in order to gather the information necessary to model current and future state business processes, as well as document business/system requirements and rules that enable the design and development of solutions that support automation and/or improvement of business processes.

The Business Analyst will also be responsible for ensuring consistent, standardized, high-quality project deliverables relative to business analysis, system analysis, requirements elicitation and documentation.

Responsibilities

  •  Collaborate with business partners in gathering and documenting business requirements, current state processes, and the development of future state processes that will transform the business
  • Build solutions that enhance our current processes (functional and non-functional requirements) and procedures that will drive efficiencies, are cost effective, and meet user requirements
  • Ensure internal programmers have accurate detailed information and are on target with project objectives
  • Work with developers on system amendments/updates and future enhancements
  • Manage multiple, concurrent business enhancement projects
  • Investigate data errors and processes and make recommendations on how to resolve issues
  • Provide user support as needed

Qualifications/Skills

 Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of proven record of successful systems analyst/analysis experience
  • Experience troubleshooting business systems issues
  • Exposure to programming languages
  • Outstanding presentation, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented climate; across functional areas and multiple locations
  • Advanced level skills in MS Word and MS Excel
  • Understanding of project management methodology

Project Experience in

  • Experience with SQL is desired
  • Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile environments
  • Adept at interacting with all levels of the organization
  • Expertise at assessing challenges, problem solving and creating appropriate business solutions
  • Working knowledge of MS Project, MS Access, and MS Visio
